Temporary Workers Temporary workers are an important asset to our company and are our representatives “in the field”. We offer a friendly and reliable service and have an excellent record in this area. Whether you are a new temp or have worked for us over a number of years, this is your page and we hope you find it useful. If you would like us to add any details or cover a particular area please contact us. We are also happy to answer any questions you may have regarding your contract, holiday pay or payroll system, although we have summarised some key areas below. Contract The temporary employment industry has become increasingly regulated of late which has lead to the introduction of even more paperwork. One of these is your contract. It is important that you read through, sign and return a copy. This can seem overwhelmingly complex but at the end of the day is designed to safeguard your rights as a temporary worker. Experience tells that the least understood sections of the contract are clause 3.6 which relates to transfer fees and clause 6.00 which details your holiday entitlement. We would ask you to read these sections particularly carefully. Interpersonnel is operating as an Employment Business as defined by the Employment Agencies Act, providing temporary workers paid through PAYE. Temporary Workers are supplied on a Contract for Services basis (Terms of Engagement), which does not establish a contract of employment with either interpersonnel or the client. We pay our temporary workers weekly one week in arrears. The payroll is run on Monday at 9.30 am. Wages are paid by BACS so that your money is available in your bank account on the Wednesday. Where Monday is a Bank Holiday the payroll is run one day later and pay is in your account on Thursday. In order to meet this schedule it is important that we receive your signed timesheet by 9.00am on Monday. Timesheet Please ensure that the person responsible for you at the client signs your timesheet and that we receive the white copy no later than 9.00am Monday. We will accept a faxed copy and by arrangement we will take hours by phone or email provided we are confident the signed original timesheet is in the post to us. Please remember to total your hours correctly, excluding lunch breaks. The accuracy of the timesheet is your responsibility. Holidays You are entitled to a maximum of 4 weeks paid holiday if working a full year and this is accrued on a pro rata basis from your first day of work with us. However you must complete a 13 week qualifying period before you can receive a payment. The legislation is designed to encourage you to take holiday, therefore payment is only made when you take time off and is not included in your hourly rate. Please note that intention to take holiday must be notified at least one week in advance. Holiday pay is paid through the payroll and subject to PAYE. Stakeholder Pension We operate a Stakeholder Pension Scheme through Legal and General which you are entitled to contribute to at your own expense. Interpersonnel does not make a contribution. Further details are available on request.
